Mr Nikhil Maini
Consultant Maxillofacial Surgeon
Mr Maini completed his Maxillofacial training in the UK and is certified as a specialist by the General Medical Council. He trained at East Grinstead, Brighton and Eastbourne. He has degrees in medicine and dentistry from the University of Glasgow. He is a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh and a Member of the Faculty of Dental Surgeons of the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh.

Mr Maini has a particular interest in facial feminisation surgery, orthognathic jaw surgery, oral surgery in children and adults and facial trauma.
Mr Maini first became interested in facial feminisation surgery seven years ago through his mentorship by Keith Altman. Mr Maini is the only surgeon to have been comprehensively trained by Mr Altman and is carrying on his facial feminisation surgery practice in Brighton. Mr Maini has been invited to give lectures on FFS at national conferences.
Mr Maini holds NHS Consultant appointments at The Royal Sussex County Hospital in Brighton, Queen Victoria Hospital in East Grinstead and Eastbourne Hospital.

Mr Maini has an interest in medical education and has led and taught courses for surgeons on jaw surgery, trauma, oral surgery, facial plastic and reconstructive surgery and facial feminisation surgery.
Mr Mayank Shastri
Consultant Maxillofacial Surgeon
MBBS, BDS, MFDSRCS (Eng), FRCS (OMFS)
Mr Shastri is a Consultant in Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery at East Sussex Healthcare NHS Trust and the prestigious Queen Victoria Hospital in East Grinstead, specialising in complex oral surgery, the management of jaw disproportion, head and neck trauma, benign salivary gland pathology and skin surgery.

After graduating in Dentistry from the University of Manchester, he went on to complete a number of posts in Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery in central London teaching hospitals. He graduated in Medicine with distinction in Clinical Sciences from Barts & The London School of Medicine & Dentistry, before undertaking academic foundation training in London, followed by higher surgical training in Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery in Guildford and East Grinstead.

Mr Shastri has worked alongside Mr Maini to develop expertise in facial feminisation surgery. He is one of few surgeons within the region who provide gender affirmation surgery, consulting on and delivering a breadth of facial feminisation procedures.​​
​
Throughout his training, he has published and presented research works both nationally and internationally and been awarded a number of academic prizes. He is thoroughly invested in training junior doctors and has been appointed as an examiner for the MFDSRCS (Eng) examination.
